Insurance Sales Representative – Business Development
Scott Morris State Farm
780 Newtown Yardley Rd, Suite 312, Newtown, PA 18940
Full-Time | In-Office | Sales-Dominant Position

Prospect. Close. Produce. Grow.

Scott Morris State Farm is seeking a competitive, ambitious Insurance Sales Representative to join our Newtown agency as a Business Development Representative.

This is a highly sales-dominant position for someone who enjoys generating leads, prospecting, overcoming objections, and closing new business. We're looking for a motivated professional who thrives on achieving goals, takes ownership of results, and consistently pursues opportunities to grow the agency.

This is not a primarily customer service, marketing, or administrative role. Your primary focus will be building a strong sales pipeline, acquiring new customers, and producing insurance sales.

Prior insurance experience is preferred, but we're willing to invest in a driven, coachable sales professional who demonstrates the motivation and commitment to succeed.

Licensing Requirements

  • Property & Casualty license must be obtained before your first day with the agency.

  • A Life insurance license is required and must be obtained within the agency's established timeframe after your start date.

  • We provide full licensing guidance, study resources, and support throughout the process.

  • Already licensed candidates are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

  • Generate new business through outbound calls, prospecting, referrals, and consistent lead follow-up.

  • Engage warm and cold prospects to identify insurance needs and sales opportunities.

  • Quote, present, and close Auto, Home, Renters, Life, and other available insurance products, as appropriately licensed.

  • Build and maintain an active pipeline of prospective customers.

  • Conduct needs-based sales conversations and recommend appropriate coverage solutions.

  • Overcome objections, communicate value, and confidently ask for the sale.

  • Develop referral relationships and identify new opportunities within the local community.

  • Follow up consistently to convert leads into new customers.

  • Identify cross-selling opportunities to expand customer relationships.

  • Track daily sales activity, applications, conversions, and production goals.

  • Collaborate with the agency team to support continued business growth.

What We're Looking For

  • Competitive, goal-driven personality with a strong desire to succeed in sales.

  • Confidence making outbound calls, prospecting, and closing business.

  • Strong communication, persuasion, and relationship-building skills.

  • Persistence, accountability, and disciplined follow-through.

  • Self-motivation and ability to manage an active sales pipeline.

  • Comfort handling objections and asking for the business.

  • Coachability, dependability, and receptiveness to sales training and feedback.

  • Previous sales, business development, insurance, or financial services experience preferred.

  • Ability to complete required insurance licensing within established timelines.

Why Join Scott Morris State Farm?

  • Sales-focused opportunity centered on new business production.

  • Full support throughout the insurance licensing process.

  • Ongoing sales coaching, product training, and professional development.

  • Opportunity to strengthen prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills.

  • Long-term career development opportunities in the insurance industry.
